Eyeopener

As a student, my idea of a real world is like a child. I dream despite of the uncertainties. I laugh as if I'm not burdened. Inside my comfort zone, I felt proud because I've passed some hard and long quizzes, beat the questions in major exams passively and finished all of the required projects . I constantly try to rebuild myself to be the better person that the society needs .But that's not the case in the real world outside.

One day, I stepped out side that boundary and found out reality. It was not what I expected-It was more cruel.

  • Some people will struck you with impolite words as if they already know what you're capable of.
  • They will greet you cheerfully and stab you at your back.
  • They will look at you like a trash if your not from a famous university.
  • They will reject you and leave you feeling worthless that you wanted to die.
I went back inside of my comfort zone disappointed and felt like a less person. But despite of all the things that had happened, I'm still grateful that I have true friends that stand beside me regardless of  what had happened. I still think that it's still good to have experienced it early because I'll be more prepared next time to slap on their face that they were all wrong. Perhaps I should thank that 'rich' beast who made me feel this strong and very motivated.

Earthquake

In the wake of the devastating earthquake in Japan and New Zealand, the following article/tips should serve as a helpful reminder:

EXTRACT FROM DOUG COPP'S ARTICLE ON THE "TRIANGLE OF LIFE"

My name is Doug Copp. I am the Rescue Chief and Disaster Manager of the American Rescue Team International (ARTI), the world's most experienced rescue team. The information in this article will save lives in an earthquake.

I have crawled inside 875 collapsed buildings, worked with rescue teams from 60 countries, founded rescue teams in several countries, and I am a member of many rescue teams from many countries. I was the United Nations expert in Disaster Mitigation for two years. I have worked at every major disaster in the world since 1985, except for simultaneous disasters.

In 1996 we made a film which proved my survival methodology to be correct. The Turkish Federal Government, City of Istanbul, University of Istanbul Case Productions and ARTI cooperated to film this practical, scientific test. We collapsed a school and a home with 20 mannequins inside.

Ten mannequins did "duck and cover," and ten mannequins I used in my "triangle of life" survival method. After the simulated earthquake collapse we crawled through the rubble and entered the building to film and document the results. The film, in which I practiced my survival techniques under directly observable, scientific conditions, relevant to building collapse, showed there would have been zero percent survival for those doing duck and cover. There would likely have been 100 percent survivability for people using my method of the "triangle of life."

This film has been seen by millions of viewers on television in Turkey and the rest of Europe, and it was seen in the USA, Canada and Latin America on the TV program Real TV.

The first building I ever crawled inside of was a school in Mexico City during the 1985 earthquake.  Every child was under their desk. Every child was crushed to the thickness of their bones. They could have survived by lying down next to their desks in the aisles. It was obscene, unnecessary and I wondered why the children were not in the aisles. I didn't at the time know that the children were told to hide under something.

Simply stated, when buildings collapse, the weight of the ceilings falling upon the objects or furniture inside crushes these objects, leaving a space or void next to them. This space is what I call the "triangle of life". The larger the object, the stronger, and the less it will compact.

The less the object compacts, the larger the void, the greater the probability that the person who is using this void for safety will not be injured. The next time you watch collapsed buildings on television, count the "triangles" you see formed.  They are everywhere.  It is the most common shape, you will see, in a collapsed building. They are everywhere.

TEN TIPS FOR EARTHQUAKE SAFETY

1) Most everyone who simply "ducks and covers" when buildings collapse are crushed to death. People who get under objects, like desks or cars, are crushed.

2) Cats, dogs and babies often naturally curl up in the fetal position. You should too in an earthquake.  It is a natural safety/survival instinct. You can survive in a smaller void. Get next to an object, next to a sofa, next to a large bulky object that will compress slightly but leave a void next to it.

3) Wooden buildings are the safest type of construction to be in during an earthquake. Wood is flexible and moves with the force of the earthquake.  If the wooden building does collapse, large survival voids are created. Also, the wooden building has less concentrated, crushing weight. Brick buildings will break into individual bricks.  Bricks will cause many injuries but less squashed bodies than concrete slabs.

4) If you are in bed during the night and an earthquake occurs, simply roll off the bed. A safe void will exist around the bed. Hotels can achieve a much greater survival rate in earthquakes, simply by posting a sign on the back of the door of every room telling occupants to lie down on the floor, next to the bottom of the bed during an earthquake.

5) If an earthquake happens and you cannot easily escape by getting out the door or window, then lie down and curl up in the fetal position next to a sofa, or large chair.

6) Most everyone who gets under a doorway when buildings collapse is killed. How? If you stand under a doorway and the doorjamb falls forward or backward you will be crushed by the ceiling above.  If the door jam falls sideways you will be cut in half by the doorway. In either case, you will be killed!

7) Never go to the stairs. The stairs have a different "moment of frequency" (they swing separately from the main part of the building). The stairs and remainder of the building continuously bump into each other until structural failure of the stairs takes place. The people who get on stairs before they fail are chopped up by the stair treads - horribly mutilated. Even if the building doesn't collapse, stay away from the stairs. The stairs are likely part of the building to be damaged. Even if the stairs are not collapsed by the earthquake, they may collapse later when overloaded by fleeing people. They should always be checked for safety, even when the rest of the building is not damaged.

8) Get Near the Outer Walls Of Buildings Or Outside Of Them If Possible - It is much better to be near the outside of the building rather than the interior. The farther inside you are from the outside perimeter of the building the greater the probability that your escape route will be blocked

9) People inside of their vehicles are crushed when the road above falls in an earthquake and crushes their vehicles; which is exactly what happened with the slabs between the decks of the Nimitz Freeway.  The victims of the San Francisco earthquake all stayed inside of their vehicles. They were all killed. They could have easily survived by getting out and sitting or lying next to their vehicles.  Everyone killed would have survived if they had been able to get out of their cars and sit or lie next to them. All the crushed cars had voids 3 feet high next to them, except for the cars that had columns fall directly across them.

10) I discovered, while crawling inside of collapsed newspaper offices and other offices with a lot of paper, that paper does not compact. Large voids are found surrounding stacks of paper.

Repost

There are two kinds of a man for me

*Posted by an unknown blogger.

First, the "IDEAL" man. This is the One you dream of every night.
Handsome, nice built, good grammars, someone who plays basketball,
who writes poetry, who plays the guitar, has a good voice, the super
gentleman, the person you write love letters to, your every wish and
prayers belong to him, you stalk him, love him very very much, but
you're just a friend to him. And that breaks your heart.

Next goes the "REAL" man. This man is the ever friendly, always
here, forever loving you type of a guy. Hell buy you flowers, give
you chocolates, cook for you, even wash your clothes if you wish them
to. He dreams of you at night, while you dream of the other. He
wishes for you to love him, while you find ways to be with "the one".
Hell write you long love letters and not give it only because he
knows you wouldn't read it anyway. He loves you very, very much, and
is willing to put through anything for you, while you drool over the
other and forever wait for him.

But knowing that Mr. Ideal wouldn't in the world look at you the way
he does for the "beautiful" ones, you pity yourself and end up
entertaining Mr. "Real". He will not be surprised because this is
what he has always hoped for. For you to be his. And today is the
day.

So there. Now, you are a couple.

You'd go on dates, watching movies, and walking in the park, hell
write you love letters he'd get to give you because he thinks you
have already fallen for his "pitiful reveries". This time, hereally
gets to wash your clothes, including your under wears, and as he
promised, he'd die for you.

Remember the time when you tried to break up with him and he pulled
the trigger onto his head and blood was all over the place?
Only, it was a pellet gun, and the blood was ketchup. It was fun.
But you almost fainted.

You went out for almost a year and during those times, you were not
as faithful. Why, Mr. "Ideal" would sometimes call and wouldask you
for a cup of coffee and some cigarettes ( he has his ways with words)
and you'll dress up even if its 3am only to meet with him.

Mr. "Ideal" would then be a little drunk and playful and youtwo
would find yourselves kissing. And Mr. "Ideal" would say: "So,how's
the boyfriend doing? Have you learned to love him yet? Too bad you
still love me" And he would, again, kiss you, as you let him foolyou
for the nth time.

Mr. "Ideal" goes home, after no coffee and cigarettes, and you
would again, be thinking. "Perhaps he really did love me." or"I've
been fooled". Much, you'd say: "never again"...

Really?!

The next day, Mr. "Real" would knock at your door, bringing you
breakfast, and you'd tell him "Am still sleepy. Just put the foodon
the table and text me first if you'll drop by. You're disturbing my
sleep."

He goes home, sad, but hopeful. "And text me first if you'll drop
by..."- meaning you wanted him to come over later.

How pathetic.

It's been almost a year, and Mr. "Real" still loves you. Nothinghas
changed; you still cheat on him sometimes, when Mr. "Ideal" calls
upon you for a cup of coffee and some cigarettes. But this time, you
are starting to see Mr. "Real" differently. You get to kiss himnow
with your eyes closed, and you give him cards on special occasions.
He notices it, and he loves you even more.

You did wrap yourself up once on his birthday, right? Just because
you are broke and when you asked him what he wants for a gift he told
you: 'YOU".

And you went to the nearest store, bought a wrapper and coiled
yourself around with a masking tape. He loved it.

Once, when you were out having fun with your friends, when
Mr. "Real" appeared on the door. He was alone, and hoping tofind you
there, he went up to your table and motioned to sit down. You stood
up, fast, and told him that you'd like a word with him outside.

You told him that you are not yet ready to tell your friends about
you and him. Poor Mr. "Real". He has to go home then and there.
After ten minutes, The "Ideal" man came inside the bar. He waswith
another girl, one that you see in television and who wears the
silliest earrings. She looked so posh, you wished her dead.

And MR. "Ideal" would come to your table, and chat with your
friends, then he'd sit beside you and tell you "You Think she's hot?"
And you'd say- "Well, her earrings are commendable. And she's tall.
But she looked more like a faggot than a model to me". Mr. "Ideal"
would smile and tell you upright "I like her for that"...

Pathetic.

So, you got home drunk, and you cried buckets just because you think
you're too ugly for him.

Then, you swore not to see him again. You deleted his number on your
cell phone, all his messages in your inbox, and you promised to pay
attention to Mr. "Real", and ask God for forgiveness, and thatif
given another chance, you'd try harder to show the poor Mr. "real"
that you loved him too.

You called Mr."Real', and a girl answered his phone.
"You bitch" she told you. "Now you will never be able tohurt him
again"
"Who are you?" you asked, stunned.
"Well, I just happened to be the girl who forever loved this man,
and that has waited for him all my life, only for you to throw him
away just like that"
"Huh?"
"And now he's mine, and even if I know he loves you more, ill never
give up trying to make him love me. He deserves to be loved, too, you
know"
"I'm sorry"
And you put the phone down.
Again, just like the saying goes: "when it rains, it pours",another
bucket of tears fell from your face.
"Why do I always get to be the one left hurting?" you asked
yourself? And you swore not to ever love again.
Your phone beeped. It was Mr. "Ideal". "I just love theweather.
Don't you?" he'll say.
And again, you find yourself smiling.

Pathetic fool.

You run after someone who's running after another, and you forget
that there's this man who's running after you, too. Not to mention
the girl who's willing to wait until he gets tired of following you
around.

So you see, if we look at love and relationships closely, you'll
realize that it is just a vicious cycle of foolish people running
after each other.

When will the cycle end? I don't know. I guess someone gets to look
back and find the lucky person following her, lovable enough, as for
her to stop and love him instead. I just hope its not too late yet.
Or that she's not too tired, and well, i hope he'd still be there at
her back, waiting.

I'd give you a hint:

The REAL man is him who runs after you no matter who you ran after,
and will always stay close. You can touch him, see him, you might
even fall in love with him. They are the ones who accept us for who
we are, and forgive us for our mistakes. Literally putting, they are
the good ones.., and they bore us.

While the "IDEAL" man is the man who's always an inch afar, andyet
we cannot seem to have him. He's always busy, and they take it
against us if we forget to tell our boss to hire them. They lie,
almost always, and obviously, they don't give a damn about us,
because well... we bore them.

See?

But it doesn't have to be this way all the time.
A time will come for me, for you, to have our cake and eat it at the
same time. Let's not just lose our hopes. Who knows, someone might
have seen us foolishly running and has decided to not run after us,
but towards us instead.
They say I'm weird, Yea, I think so too  xD
It was the first day of summer class, and guess what! I was 3 hours late! It's quite embarrassing but hey, It's already done, hindi na po ako uulit :)

I spent my two weeks summer vacation watching series

List of series that I've watched

+The Moon that Embraces the Sun (20 Episodes)

-It was a good series, but I kinda fast forward the episodes because of long character dialogues. Typical Story that revolves about the crowned princess that died but later showed up alive in a form of a female shaman.

+Man of Honor(24 Episodes)

-I was not totally awed when I was reading the plot of this series, but due to the netizens good reviews about the series, I was convinced. There was still doubt when I was watching the first 10 minutes of the first episode, because I can't relate to the baseball thing. but as the story flows it turned out to be a great series. I think the writer intended to left hanged the ending so that the viewers will crave for more k-series haha
The Story is about about a boy who aspired to be a home-run king due to a promise. When he became a baseball player, he forgot about this promise because of a competitor and struggles on baseball that he thought  led his life in a total failure. In a baseball accident he met a quirky assistant nurse that helped him. This incident started the revelations, lies and discovery of the forgotten promise.

+A Love to Kill(16 Episodes)

-One word to describe this series, EPIC. I didn't regret every minutes watching this. The plot was great. I was really blown by the turns of the story, Especially the Ending. EPIC GREAT. Maybe the the cons of the series was the last episode- they ended up rushing the last part.  As whole, this will be one of the top in my list.[Genre: Tragedy, Romance]

+Atasinchi no Danshi(11 Episodes)

-This a funny Japanese manga turned into live action series. If you are finding something funny then , you should watch this.
Chisato Mineta, a 20-year-old homeless girl who moves about from parks to net cafes. Her mother died of illness, and when her father disappears after earning an incredible 100 million Yen debt, she is chased out of her home. Chisato spends her life running from debt collectors, but one day, she meets the president of a huge toy company who agrees to pay off her debts and then tricks her into marrying him. She then finds out that he only has one month to live. If she stays married him then she doesn't have to pay back the debt but if she leaves then all the money has to be returned.
A month later, she finds out that the president actually has more conditions than to just being his wife. She must also live with his six sons; all adopted as successors to the company by the president. However, each son has hidden himself away from the rest of the family—and none are eager to welcome their new mother. Will Chisato be able to open up their hearts and turn these strangers into a loving family?
